untitled

The kicking and punting game should be very good again this season. Returning sophomore kicker Andy Phillips will look to continue his stellar play from last season. Phillips is an All American candidate and one of the most reliable kickers in the country.

The punting game will also boast an All American candidate in returning junior punter Tom Hackett. Hackett was first team All Pac 12 last season and is one of the best punters in the country.

Sophomore Chase Dominguez will again handle all the snapping duties this season. Dominguez played very well as a true freshman last season.

The Utes will have a ton of talent to choose from in the return game. They return and also bring in a lot of speedy playmakers who definitely could have a big impact returning kicks and punts. Some of the names that you will likely see: Dres Anderson, Kaelin Clay, Geoffrey Norwood, Delshawn McClellon, Dominique Hatfield and Bubba Poole.

The Utes will continue to rely upon the special teams this season to make some key plays as well as some key stops each game. Coach Whittingham knows how important a good special teams unit is and how vital the play of the special teams is to the success of a football team. Look for him to really utilize the talent that he has and get the best guys on the field to ensure that the Utes have success in this area.
