Time For a Throwdown Utes, Cougars and Aggies Style

I was recently asked to join our friends over at the Salt City Throwdown Podcast to be a  guest co-host and discuss the 2013 Football season for the University Of Utah Utes, Brigham Young University Cougars and Utah State University Aggies.  We opened the show discussing the Utes, and the abysmal season they had which included but is not limited to Injuries and Interceptions.  Ugh! being three Utah fans in the studio we discussed the Utes to length almost Ad Nauseam.

In my honest opinion this Utes season was a FAIL, no bowl game appearance (again) and inconsistent play, but I’m  just a fan not a player or coach (shocking I know) so what the hell do I know? I do know that the Utes went 1-0 or  2-0 or 3-0 or 4-0, depending on who you ask, in rivalry games in the 2013 season, so that’s a “win” I suppose.

ENOUGH WITH THE UTES ALREADY!!!! so lets move on to to BYU, the Cougars had a good season 2013, they are going bowling (again) facing The University of Washington Huskies  in the Fight Hunger Bowl at AT&T Park in San Francisco on Friday December 27th at 7:30pm Mountain Time.

2013 was the 3rd season for BYU being an Independent, they have a great running QB in Taysom Hill and will be losing a great Linebacker in Kyle Van Noy which leaves a HUGE hole to fill in the Cougar defense for 2014, which should be fine given their cupcake schedule in 2014.

BYU’s 2013 regular season gave us weather delays, opposing coach getting fired and extremely quick touchdowns, my goodness! Make fun of the “Go Fast Go Hard” offense at BYU all that you want, but when they are in rhythm, good luck stopping them because they are good! 2013 also saw BYU extended their losing streak to hated rival Utah to 4 games (Go Utes) but hey, at least you have basketball.. oh right.  haha..

ENOUGH WITH THE TWO TEAMS DOWN SOUTH! Calm down Aggie fans we’ll get to you right now!  2013 was the 1st year for the Utah State University Aggies to be in the Mountain West Conference winning 8 games  they proved that they belong with the MWC.  Even after losing their “hesiman Hopefull” QB Chuckie Keeton in the 6th game of the year to “rival” BYU, the Aggies pressed on and overcame that injury and other key injuries to advance to the inaugural Mountain West Conference Championship Game which they lost to Fresno State 17-24 in a very entertaining game.

The Aggies 2013 season was entertaining from the 1st game vs Utah to the Last vs Fresno State.  This Aggies team is extremely talented and fun to watch, move over basketball this is a Football school now! Ok, maybe not yet but they do have the potential to become just that.   The Aggies will play any team anywhere; however, now that they are respected around the nation its getting tougher for them to schedule the “elite” teams and their 2014 out of conference schedule shows it.  The Aggies will face Northern Illinois in the Poinsettia Bowl in sexy San Diego on Thursday, December 26th at 7:30pm Mountain Time at Qualcomm Stadium.

How many wins will the Utes, Cougars and Aggies have? Will they go Bowling?
