About Rick Aaron

Rick Aaron, former Sports Director at KSTU Fox 13 in Salt Lake City, has 23 years of experience in television as an anchor, reporter and producer. Originally from Mississippi, Rick graduated with honors from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and began working at KTTV Fox 11 in Los Angeles. Rick spent 13 years at KTTV as a sports producer, winning five Emmy Awards, two Golden Mic Awards and an Associated Press Award for his work on “Fox 11 News at Ten”, “Fox 11 Overtime” and “Fox 11 Extra Innings”. In 2003, Rick began his on-air career as a Sports Anchor/Reporter at KNDU NBC 25 in Tri-Cities, Washington. A year later he was promoted to Sports Director at KNDO NBC 23 in Yakima, Washington. After less than a year in Yakima, Rick was hired by Fox 13 where he anchored sports on “Fox 13 News at Nine”, “Fox 13 Live at Five” and co-hosted the “Fox 13 Sports Page” for seven and a half years. Rick has won multiple UBEE Awards from the Utah Broadcasters Association and was named the 2010 Utah Sportscaster of the Year by the National Association of Sportswriters and Sportscasters. His voice is familiar to Utah radio listeners as well from his time as a host on 1320 KFAN and 1280 The Zone and his regular appearances on KALL 700. He has hosted the Utah High School Heisman Award Ceremony multiple times and emceed Intermountain Donor Services' "Dash For Donation" eight straight years, in addition to charity appearances for the American Red Cross, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and ARUP Blood Services.
