East Coast Horror Story
Grant Bagby 08/28/2012Imagine this. You are a fresh graduate with a bachelor’s degree. You land a great job with an investment bank and you are going to spend 2 months near New York City training for the new job. You are ecstatic. What could go wrong, right?
So, what would you do sports fans? Well, I went with a baseball triple play. I went to a game at Fenway, Yankee Stadium, and Citi Field. I also was a tourist and saw a lot of the major sites in NYC.
Everything was great. Now I just needed to figure out how to enjoy a Thursday night of Utah football. Absolute horror struck. I went to 3 different sources to check and make sure the Utes had actually joined the PAC-12. I wasn’t sure if I had warped back in time back to the Mountain West or what. Then it came to me.
There are two reasons I am having a tough time trying to watch the Utah game.
Craig Thompson has created a voodoo doll of the PAC-12 logo and has been poking it since Utah left the MWC.
BYU fans have been praying and fasting for a way to get back at Utah for forcing their hand to independence.
Well, I hope they are happy. I am stuck back east hoping for a way to watch the Utah game that will never come. I will have to watch twitter for the play call critiques because all i want to know about is how Brian Johnson does. There are veteran players at all the key offensive positions. So, will Johnson help those players light up the defense? Or will we all be criticizing Whittingham for making the biggest staffing mistake of his coaching career.
I will be watching BYU and USU this week, not Utah. I find myself yelling inside, “Why me!?”
What do you think of the PAC-12 network? Will they be on DirectTv?
