The WWE, for the second year in a row, somehow managed to colossally screw up the Royal Rumble, a guaranteed Top-3 Pay-Per-View, and in light of Vince McMahon’s no-holds-barred interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin recently, it just shows how far out of touch he’s really become. The Morning Shootaround – Utah Jazz: Week 14

This week’s games: Monday, January 26 – Boston Celtics. Energy Solutions Arena. 7:00 PM MT. Wednesday, January 28 – Los Angeles Clippers. Energy Solutions Arena. 7:00 PM MT. Friday, January 30 – Golden State Warriors. Energy Solutions Arena. 7:00 PM MT. Game of the Week: Utah Jazz vs Boston Celtics I know what you’re thinking – “The Celtics as the game of the week?! The Jazz have better games than that!”  Well, yeah… You’d be correct to say that, but the fact remains, Boston is the only team this week that the Jazz haven’t already played.  We’ve seen the Jazz play against the Clippers and the Warriors, and they’ve lost all four games, so the Celtics are the team to watch this week.  This isn’t the old Boston team that everyone thinks about.  It’s been years since KG, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce suited up for Boston.  Even Rondo isn’t around to be seen in Celtic green. ... BYU Football: BYU vs USU Preview and Prediction

Week 6: BYU vs USU W2W4: Again with the Penatlies: Last season I felt like the thing I wrote about every game was how well (or poorly) the offensive line played. This season it seems I will be writing about how bad BYU is in regards to penalty yards per game. BYU entered the game against Virginia with only 3 teams averaging more penalty yards than the Cougars. They came out of the game tied for last – DEAD LAST – in the country for the most penalty yards per game at 105.5 yards per game. I would even be more frustrated by the penalties this season than the offensive line issues last season but I am not purely because BYU has been winning. The reason I hate penalties so much is that they are 100% preventable. I can live with the fact if BYU gets beat because they aren’t as good as the other team ... Read More »

    Real Salt Lake selects…

Going into the MLS SuperDraft, Real Salt Lake fans were watching players that fit into their range. Rumors ran crazy that RSL would select the Best Player Available, regardless of the position they played. As always with a draft, something crazy happened. Cristian Roldan was projected as the second best player in the draft. It was assumed that he wouldn’t fall past former RSL manager and the New York City FC at the 2nd pick. And then they selected Khiry Shelton. Roldan continued to fall all the way to the 16th pick, where RSL stood. The fan base assumed the pick would be Cristian Roldan. A technically sound midfielder who was a project, much as Luis Gil was when he came to Real Salt Lake. Seattle Sounder FC, and former RSL General Manager Garth Lagerway, gave RSL a deal that they couldn’t resist: swap the 16th pick for the 27th pick and Seattle would send RSL ... Read More »
