Utah Utes Football: A Case of the Drops

imagesCADQG8HE

The receiving core at the University of Utah has developed a nasty case of the drops. Drops are contagious, and if spread, can be deadly to offensive production. Drops can typically last anywhere from 1 game to 13 games. Some side effects of drops include: lack of touchdowns, lack of passing and/or receiving yards, loss of playing time and ultimately lost ... BYU Football: What is there to play for?

byu-image-raise-the-bar12

Written by: Zak Hicken. Follow him on Twitter: @zakhicken There is a recurring theme being repeated that BYU’s 2014 season is lost and there is nothing to play for after they lost their two recent games to Utah State and UCF. But is that really the case? We as fans got something that we don’t normally experience which is a ... Read More »

Follow him on twitter: @CurtisKen Breaking News: The Utah Jazz will NOT be making the playoffs. It’s true. You know it is. I would wager Greg Miller, Dennis Lindsey, and Quin Snyder know it’s true as well. In fact, I would say that is their plan. Sure they look good in the preseason, but they are not a playoff team. Go ahead and make those summer plans, you won’t need to change them. So should we still be excited? Should we continue to tune in and endure more shots of Matt Harpring’s hair?  Should we still go to games even when we will lose and lose often? Yes, yes, and yes. Here are 3 reasons why we should watch: The youth movement. Remember how everyone complained about Richard Jefferson getting 30 minutes a game? Or Marvin Williams?  Well, they are no ... Read More »

BYU Football: BYU vs USU Preview and Prediction

Week 6: BYU vs USU W2W4: Again with the Penatlies: Last season I felt like the thing I wrote about every game was how well (or poorly) the offensive line played. This season it seems I will be writing about how bad BYU is in regards to penalty yards per game. BYU entered the game against Virginia with only 3 teams averaging more penalty yards than the Cougars. They came out of the game tied for last – DEAD LAST – in the country for the most penalty yards per game at 105.5 yards per game. I would even be more frustrated by the penalties this season than the offensive line issues last season but I am not purely because BYU has been winning. The reason I hate penalties so much is that they are 100% preventable. I can live with the fact if BYU gets beat because they aren’t as good as the other team ... Read More »
