Real Salt Lake: History of Consistency

timthumb

Real Salt Lake has this knack of making themselves the underdog. In doing such, they suddenly find that switch that turns themselves into a very dangerous team. In 2013, the talk was that RSL’s run as an elite was coming to an end. At the end of the 2012 season, they shipped out many starters that forced many to consider ... Read More »

    NBA Western Conference Power Rankings

Earlier I did the Power Rankings for the NBA’s Eastern Conference, and now here goes with the West. 15. LOS ANGELES LAKERS (25-57) – The Lakers are going to be a glorious train-wreck this year. From Byron Scott’s anti-scoring coaching to Kobe Bryant scoring 27 points on 27 shots per night to Carlos Boozer’s enthusiastic yelling on every fifth play regardless of what happened, it’s going to be an interesting meltdown. They have the fifth-most nationally-televised games this year, except as we get deeper into the season, I see ESPN exercising their flexible options and cutting that down. Especially if Kobe goes down with injuries again. 14. MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES (26-56) – GM Flip Saunders has built an ideal team for tanking this year but having lots of talent and potential for future years. He’ll get into a few battles with Coach Flip Saunders, who’s good enough to figure out how to keep the T-Wolves from being a complete ... Read More »

BYU Football: BYU vs USU Preview and Prediction

Week 6: BYU vs USU W2W4: Again with the Penatlies: Last season I felt like the thing I wrote about every game was how well (or poorly) the offensive line played. This season it seems I will be writing about how bad BYU is in regards to penalty yards per game. BYU entered the game against Virginia with only 3 teams averaging more penalty yards than the Cougars. They came out of the game tied for last – DEAD LAST – in the country for the most penalty yards per game at 105.5 yards per game. I would even be more frustrated by the penalties this season than the offensive line issues last season but I am not purely because BYU has been winning. The reason I hate penalties so much is that they are 100% preventable. I can live with the fact if BYU gets beat because they aren’t as good as the other team ... Read More »

In 2013, the talk was that RSL’s run as an elite was coming to an end. At the end of the 2012 season, they shipped out many starters that forced many to consider that RSL was going into rebuild form. RSL found themselves in the MLS Cup Finals. 2014 starts and we have a new coach. Long gone is our most successful manager, Jason Kreis. His right hand man, Jeff Cassar, has taken over coaching the club. And the fans showed their instant support. The critics started talking about how the team was going to need to take a step back, how the “Mastermind of the Diamond” leaving for New York City’s Football Club would be the end of RSL’s time as an unstoppable force and constant threat. Amid ... Read More »
